Diego Robbie Michiels (Deventer, August 8, 1990) is a Dutch-born Indonesian footballer who since the 2009/2010 season has been a part of the selection of the Dutch first division club Go Ahead Eagles. He mainly plays as a right. Diego used to play at DVV RDC Deventer, and he later was picked by Go Ahead Eaglesto further develop it. He made his debut against MW on November 20, 2009. Diego began the season with an amateur contract with Go Ahead Eagles until the end of the season, but now it is upgraded and he is now 2 solid, with a further option for another two seasons. One of Michiels' best friend also plays with him in Go Ahead Eagles; that is Joey Suk. In 2011, he and Joey were invited by Indonesian football association for Indonesia national under-23 football team in Jakarta. As the newspaper report, he was so interested in joining Indonesian national team even though he has to put off his Dutch passport. He is now currently on the process of being naturalized by Indonesia. His passport is finished April 7, 2011. He's along with Joey and Ruben, will be able to play for the Indonesia national team.[1]
